Nexstar Station goes with Husband and Wife Anchor Team

Nexstar owned KTAL (Shreveport) announced that Anchor Dan Jovic has joined his Anchor wife Jacque Jovic on the evening news anchor desk.

Jacque and Dan Jovic are co-anchoring NBC 6 News at 5:00, 6:00, and 10 p.m., Monday through Friday.

“I couldn’t be happier to announce this move. Dan has done a superb job in helping to grow the morning show with Stefanie Bryant and Patrick Dennis.  Now he will be able to bring his journalistic skill and personal warmth to NBC 6 news in the evening.  With this move we are strengthening our commitment to serving the ArkLaTex,” said Mark McKay, VP/GM of KTAL.

Dan and Jacque Jovic came to KTAL in October 2012 from Cleveland, OH, where Dan was a reporter and Jacque was a news anchor.  Since coming to the station, Dan has anchored NBC 6 News Today, and Jacque has anchored NBC 6 News at 5:00, 6:00, and 10:00p.

NBC 6 News Director Chris Huston said, “There aren’t very many husband and wife news anchor teams in the country, but the Jovics were an obvious choice to lead NBC 6 News as we continue to bring our viewers local news that matters.   Everywhere I go, I find people responding to both their professionalism and warmth. The Jovics have a rare combination in television news, they are both great journalists, but they are also great people.”
