Fresno Anchor "Retiring" after 30 Years

KGPE Anchor Mike Scott says that after 30 years, he is retiring from the station next week.

Although, no one will say, we're betting this has something to do with Nexstar taking over the station.

Scott's "retirement" comes just months after the purchase of KGPE and local NBC affiliate KSEE by Nexstar Broadcasting. Since the purchases, the stations have shared news reporters and have plans for operations to move under one roof.

"I had a great 30 years here and loved that people let me come into their homes," Scott said. "I always loved hearing that some people grew up with me."

When asked if Scott's departure had anything to do with the merger, Matt Rosenfeld, president and general manager for both stations, said: "Scott's retiring June 14."

Yeah that's it.... he's "Retiring"..... that's the ticket.
