Several times demoted former WPEC (West Palm Beach) Anchor wants you to know that he quit the station and was not fired.

Yes, Juan Carlos Fanjul was demoted, a few times, but he says the station tried to keep him with a new offer.

“I can confirm I’ve decided to leave CBS 12 after 5 years,” Fanjul wrote. “CBS 12 was very gracious in offering me a new deal to keep me at the station, but I decided it was time to find a challenging new assignment in television news.

“In fact, a national search is underway on my behalf by Napoli Management Group in Beverly Hills and I’m already considering some appealing opportunities. I look forward to making an announcement in the near future.”

Still, says Fanjul, it wasn’t an easy decision.

“It’s a bittersweet decision because I will miss my colleagues and most importantly, my loyal viewers who have been so kind to me over the years,” he added.

Fangul does not say if the offer from the station was for less money that he was getting under his last agreement.
