Earlier, FTVLive told you about an internal memo sent to the staff at the Dayton Daily News, telling ten not to publish stories that are critical of WHIO-TV in Dayton. Both properties work under the same roof and are owned by Cox.

The memo sent by Rashida Rawls, a Cox editor, told the staff. "We do not want to run any stories that cast our station in a negative light or even allude to it negatively."

Now Cox Spokesperson Michael Athmer is doing the best spin job that he can.

Athmer tells The Wrap that “We are addressing this with our staff so messages like this don’t happen again.”

In other words, tell the staff personally when you want to censor the news and don't write it in an email.
