The One Media Company That is Standing Up to Trump

As you watch media company after media company line up to kiss the ring of Donald Trump, there is one media executive holding her own.

Watching all the media companies fawn over Trump, makes many feel that we have no one that is willing to hold the administration accountable. TV networks, newspapers (Jeff Bezos) and social media companies like Facebook are all willing to suck up to Trump and put their morals aside.

But, Laurene Powell Jobs, the wife of the late Steve Jobs is not bending to Trump.

Jobs owns The Atlantic and unlike many other media outlets, she is standing behind the journalism of her publication. 

She is also behind her Editor Jeffrey Goldberg.

You may know that it was Goldberg who was “accidentally” included in a Signal chat group of the top national security officials talking about an imminent attack on the Houthis.

Goldberg has been attacked by Trump and many in the administration for his reporting on the Signal chat. He has calmly told the truth despite being attacked as a “sleazebag” among other insults by Trump.

Through it all Jobs has had his back. At a time when billionaire owners of cherished publications (Bezos) that hold government accountable are caving to Trump, Jobs is not.

While the billionaire men have lost their spines, a woman like Jobs is staying with higher principles.

I say, good for her.
