On Friday, FTVLive told you about an insensitive TikTok post by KWCH (Wichita), in which their anchors have a fish filter on the camera while talking about how lakes are drying up.

Wichita is dealing with mandatory water restrictions as drought impacts the city's primary water source.

It certainly is not something to laugh at, yet here are the station’s anchors using the fish filter to make fun of the story.

The fact that the anchors thought this was a good idea shows they are lacking in news judgment. The fact that the station account posted this means it passed through a chain of command that also lacks news judgment.

What’s interesting, the posted video was on TikTok for a couple of days, until FTVLive did the story.

Shortly after we posted the story, KWCH deleted the video.

While it’s good that they pulled the video that mocked a serious situation, we do wonder how it got posted in the first place.

KWCH never reached out to say thanks, or comment on their poor taste.
