Sacked in Motown

Several sources tell FTVLive that CBS Detroit has basically cleaned house of their mid-level managers.

Back in August, in a couple of Patron Only stories, FTVLive told you about managers dissing employees in text messages back and forth to each other.

FTVLive also told you that WBBm GM Jennifer Lyons, who was assigned to over see CBS Detroit as well, was looking to clean up the mess in Motown.

Yesterday, a 3:30PM meeting was called, and Lyons made a big step in that direction.

Gone is Paul Ptylowany, the one-time news director at the station. Ptylowany was demoted to VP Dir of Content & Special Projects shortly after Lyons came aboard. Now, he has been demoted out the door.

Also gone is Lisa Palmer, Assistant News Director, and morning Executive Producer Steve Ljuljdjuraj.

Many staffers emailed FTVLive, happy with the exits and feeling they were needed.

Also gone is EP of Community Affairs.

Stay tuned as Lyons continues to try and rescue the Motown O&O.
