Weatherman, Turned Failed Political Candidate (Twice) Wins Court Case

Back in April of 2023, FTVLive told you that Former KRQE weatherman Mark Ronchetti was suing a political consulting company that he says screwed up his campaign website….twice.

The “Mark Ronchetti Governor” campaign website went online early and that meant that KRQE pulled the plug on his employment.

In his lawsuit, the former weatherman said he lost his six-figure job at KRQE-TV, had to pay $40,000 to terminate his employment contract early, and damaged his future employment prospects in the TV media industry.

The judge ruled that the consulting company needs to pay Ronchetti $386,575 in damages for its “wrongful conduct” in failing to protect the draft website from public viewing.

I think after legal fees, he won’t be making much.

As to the damage to his future employment prospects in the TV media industry, it’s clear this guy wants to be a politician, and he was using TV news to fill the gaps between elections.

I don’t blame any station that has no interest in hiring him.
