Gone in Albuquerque

KOB Morning Anchor Gabe Salazar is gone from the Hubbard station after less than two years.

Not much was said about his exit and depending on who you talk to, he left on his own, or he was fired.

One person who worked with Salazar tells FTVLive that he made “inappropriate comments,” in the newsroom.

Salazar posted to social media, “I am overwhelmed by the amount of warm and heartfelt messages I’ve been getting since I left KOB. It’s hard to grasp the scope of our reach behind the 4 walls of a TV studio, but meeting many of you outside the station and receiving so many supportive messages has reminded me of why I love New Mexico, the ability for journalists to make a real difference and why my love continues to grow for this community. I truly appreciate the support you’ve given me. You’ll have to stay tuned for what’s next in my career, but for now I’m taking it easy and do something I love- travel!”

It would seem odd that someone would be allowed to break a contract less than two years in. But trying to get someone in management to tell you the real story would be next to impossible.
