Now They Cover the Story

A couple of days ago, FTVLive told you about the shitstorm brewing at Scripps WCPO (Cincy) involving the station’s Chief Met Steve Raleigh.

It took some time, but it appears that the other Cincy stations are finally covering the story after they ignored it.

The elderly couple who witnesses say Raleigh’s family beat up has held a press Conference, and they are pointing right at Steve Raleigh.

The couple claims that Steve Raleigh, who wasn't even in the car when the wreck occurred, tried to convince the family not to involve the police. When they insisted on calling the police, things got out of control.

Just after the wreck, people can see in the video taken by one of the Morrows, Steve Raleigh, having a discussion with Doug and Lois Morrow, 79 and 76 years old, and their adult son, Troy.

"Then I hear a voice coming into the picture screaming, ‘Here’s what we’re going to do.’ When I turned around, it was Steve Raleigh and he was approaching my dad, and his finger was out like this [waving it in his face] ‘We’re just going to exchange info, no cops are being called," said Troy, explaining what he remembers happened.

"Seconds later I hear from a distance, ‘No one’s going to hit my dad!’ I look this way [left], someone coming from this way [right] clocks me in the side of the head, I stagger back, he dives on me, he was on my throat with both hands choking me."

Both the elderly Morrows hit their heads on the pavement and went to the hospital. Lois ended up with a cracked skull, bleeding on the brain, a detached retina and a black eye.

WKRC spoke with the Raleighs' attorney, Merlyn Shiverdecker, who said, "We aren't going to try this case in the media. I have my client's version of what happened, but I'm not going to share or disseminate it through the media or on social media. Let's let the police do their job.”

The police released a statement Monday saying: "This investigation is still ongoing CPD has an obligation to thoroughly investigate all reported offenses... as is currently being done..."

Many feel that the Raleigh’s are being treated with kid gloves due to their status.
