Quick Exit at The Firm
/Longtime KSAZ (Phoenix) Anchor Troy Hayden announced he’s leaving The Firm’s station, and it isn’t a long goodbye.
"Friday is my last day at Fox 10, and I want to say THANK YOU!" Hayden posted to social media. "Without your viewership and support, there’s no way I’m able to work at this station for 30 years. So many memories, so many stories. Again, sincerely, thank you."
Hayden is not retiring and he’s not leaving TV. "I’m not leaving valley TV news, and I’m excited tell you where I’m heading," he posted. "I’ll do that soon. It was a tough decision, but I’m confident the move will allow me to continue to grow as a journalist."
The Fox O&Os have been headed in a downward spiral for quite some time, so the fact that Hayden chose to leave is not a big surprise.
KSAZ is known for employing biased anchors, and Hayden may be looking to go to a place a bit more balanced.
He joined the station in 1994 and has been serving as the morning Anchor.
If we were a betting person, we would bet that Hayden is headed to Tegna’s KPNX and will move to evenings.
