Well, So Much For That...

The heatwave across the country has been brutal.

Of course, Summers in the desert are always hot.

At Scripps-owned KTNV (Las Vegas), News Director Jessie Williams sen out this memo about news crews working in the heat.

In the memo, she writes, “When temperatures reach 105 degrees or above, we will cancel live shots.”

It appears that rule about the heat is not being followed.

Here’s a Reporter standing live in front of a dumpster; according to the station’s own weather bug, it’s 108 degrees outside.

Here’s another Reporter standing on a street corner with nothing going on behind him. The temp says it is 109 degrees.

This Reporter is standing in a parking lot, where it really gets hot. The station bug says 107 degrees.

Why put it in writing that you’re making a rule, but you don’t follow the rules?

Maybe Scripps CEO Adam Symson could look into this.
