Thirty People Entered

Yesterday, FTVLive told you how the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Emmys raked in the money over the weekend as they handed out awards to just about everyone in the chapter.

Let’s look at just one entry by NBC’s WRC in Washington.

The NBC O&O listed THIRTY PEOPLE entered for a Regional Emmy for a story on pandas leaving the DC zoo.

Apparently, 30 WRC staffer worked on "Bye-Bye Pandas."

I’m not sure how an assignment editor had direct impact on the production of the story as is required in the Emmy submission rules. Also, managers are not supposed to be entered in less they had direct impact on the story. But, the VP of news at WRC was listed as an entrant?

Looking at the Emmys, the early entry fee is over $130 per entry. This means the station spent over $4000 on a single entry.

Yes, it is out of hand, people.
