The Weather Power Couple

Matt Noyes was the Chief Meteorologist at NBC 10 in Boston, a job he held for over two decades before leaving in April.

His wife, Danielle, also works part-time as a Met at NBC 10.

Now the couple are working together, forecasting the weather. But, don’t look for Matt on TV.

The Noyes have entered the digital space with an app and streaming weather.

The Boston Globe writes that three times a day, the couple takes turns delivering a traditional, TV-style forecast, which is also available on YouTube, while the app and website, 1degreeoutside.com, provide their town-by-town forecasts, hour-by-hour for the next 24 days, as well as a 14-day outlook.

They also have specific forecasts for each Massachusetts state park. In addition, the company is offering private forecasts for companies with outdoor workers. Unlike algorithm-based weather apps, what they are pitching is a local forecast, crunched by actual meteorolgists with years of experience with New England weather.

Matt acknowledges that it is a lot of work, but he feels they are up for the task.

FTVLive left TV News for the digital space almost 25 years ago, and we haven’t looked back since.

FTVLive wishes Matt and Danielle well in their new adventure.
