Signing Off in Miami

WSVN (Miami) Investigative Reporter Karen Hensel is leaving the station next month and the TV news business altogether.

Hensel has spent nearly 4 decades in the news business and has decided that is enough.

Here is the internal email that went out to the staff from WSVN news boss Alice Jacobs.

I'm so sad to be writing this email, but Karen Hensel has made the decision to leave 7 News, and the news business altogether. As you all know, Karen suffered a very serious injury over Christmas break while visiting family in Indianapolis. While Karen is slowly recovering, her heart is being pulled home. Karen's mother, children and grandchildren all live there, so she's going to retire from journalism and work in the family business. 

Karen is an incredible investigative reporter, and even finer person. We wish her all the happiness in her new journey.
