NBC’s WRC (DC) was reporting that a DC cop was shot inside a police district. They tweeted it out and then reported it on air.

WRC reported that an intruder walked in and shot the officer in the district, when in fact, he was shot blocks away inside his personal car and then drove to the district!

The station deleted the original tweet.

WRC’s former Assignment editor works inside the PIO Office, so this should never happen online or on air.
