Former Bay Area Anchor Faces Jail Time

Former KTVU (Oakland) Anchor Frank Somerville has been sentenced in connection with a drunken domestic incident in Berkeley,CA, last June.

FTVLive told you that police arrested Somerville at the home of his brother. Cops responded to a call at his brother’s home and found Somerville being restrained by his brother and appeared to be drunk.

This week, an Alameda County Superior Court judge approved a plea deal in which Somerville has pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving and the probation violation, paying a $829 fine and agreeing to 30 days in jail.

"I think I’ve been vindicated," Somerville told the San Francisco Chronicle after his sentencing, "This doesn’t mean that I wasn’t responsible for some things."
