Work at the Network, But Where Will You Live
/CBS News has posted a job for a Broadcast Associate to work on CBS Mornings.
CBS says they are looking for a smart, creative, and enterprising Broadcast Associate to join the team. The ideal candidate is a collaborator with exceptional organizational skills, is detail-oriented and can multi-task and keep a calm head under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude. This Broadcast Associate will support all aspects of production for both live and tape segments including working with producers and editors, booking correspondent and guest travel, logging, transcribing, and tracking down data and visual elements.
If you have all this talent, you can apply at this link.
According to the CBS posting, the starting pay for the job is $42,000 a year.
Now, you likely would like to live near the studio. But, the average rent for an apartment in Manhattan is $4,831.
Which means, your $42,000 salary will not be enough to cover the average rent in NYC. Also, I’m guessing you might want to eat at some point. Well, you’re going to find you don’t have any money to do that.
Good luck to you and shame on CBS.
