Lexington Station Mourns Loss of Co-Worker

The staff at WLEX is mourning the loss of one of their own.

Billy Williamson was a graphic designer at the station, and had worked at WLEX for over two decades.

Williamson was killed over the weekend when vehicle was hit head-on by what police say was a drunk driver.

"We're all gonna miss Billy so much we were a second family to him, and he was sort of a little brother to all of us even though he's now in his 50's. But I can’t imagine the pain that his biological family is going through and those closest to him. It's just not right,” said longtime WLEX Nancy Cox.

As someone that lost a family member, who was killed by a drunk driver, this is why I call out drunk driving arrests of TV news people. You want you to get drunk, that’s up to you, but when you get behind the wheel, you put others lives in danger.

Our condolences to the WLEX team.
