Signed Off at CNN
/CNN Meteorologist Karen Maginnis has decided to leave the network.
Maginis joined CNN in 1985, and has been freelance at the network for the past two decades.
Here is a portion of her email that she sent her co-workers.
Pardon the interruption of the solar eclipse but….
I couldn’t have asked for a more remarkable and exciting network to be a part of than CNN. And, the bonus has been working with the most knowledgeable and talented people I have ever worked with. It is something I’ll always treasure and reflect on fondly.
It has been a very challenging decision , but after much consideration, it’s necessary at this time for me to hang up my mic.
But, I’ll be cheering you all through every hurricane, snowstorm, heatwave, tornado, e-word and yes, even a total solar eclipse! You all have taught me so much, saved my bacon, and make great TV everyday.
I still wonder how, in my first few weeks on the air, I accidentally mispronounced the name of a city in Colorado (or was it Nebraska..?) and still managed to keep my job. I meant to say Sugar City. But, no, the mangled mess became Sugar Shitty- and a star was born, forever to be replayed on the company blooper reel.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart - it’s been a blast!
