Many watching the Billy Joel Concert on CBS on Sunday night, were in for a surprise.

As Joel was playing his iconic hit Piano Man, East and Central time zone stations dumped out to start the late newscast.

Apparently, this happened at CBS stations around the country. The Masters on CBS ran a bit late, which pushed back the start of the Billy Joel concert,it appears that CBS didn’t change the out time, so it automatically dumped to news at the top of the hour.

Gray’s WANF (Atlanta) posted a story about how frustrated fans who contacted the station and that they (WANF) have also been in contact with CBS.

If you’re old enough or know your TV history, this was a “Heidi Game” moment for CBS.

FTVLive talked to a few CBS affiliates on Monday, who said they received many calls and emails.
