She Was Told to Pack Up and Leave

Longtime WBTV Anchor Molly Grantham went on social media to tell viewers that after 20 years, she was leaving the station.

Grantham expected to be leaving WBTV at the end of the month. On social media, she wrote in part, ““it’s time to grow in a new direction” and “I am very grateful for 20-years at WBTV.”

She headed into work, thinking that she would be anchoring the news, but that didn’t happen.

She was informed by a superior that she was to pack up and leave the newsroom. “I wish I had a prettier exit,” Grantham told the Charlotte Observer.

Grantham’s contract is up at the end of the month and if you read between the lines, it sounds like she is going to another media outlet in town.

But, after 20 years, doesn’t she deserve the chance to work out her contract and say goodbye on air?

I don’t see how this can be anything but bad PR from the station.

Stupid move…..
