What a Bunch of Mumbo Jumbo....

Nexstar’s KDVR/KWGN (Denver) has hired Sean McNamara as the station’s new News Director. He comes from WDAF, Nexstar’s station in Kansas City.

I could go on and write some more shit that you will likely gloss over, but instead, I want to share a quote from KDVR’s General Manager, Byron Grandy.

As you read this quote, ask yourself if you have ever heard anyone (ANYONE!) talk like this.

“Sean understands the importance of complete weather coverage, the impact of big stories and the thrill of being in a championship city, so he’s the perfect fit to lead our newsroom,” Grandy said, adding, “Plus, his multi-platform approach will add additional layers of coverage to an already market-leading digital presence at KDVR.com.”

Come on! No one would ever speak like this.

Why not just use real off-the-cuff quotes and not this crap?

And, I guess since we heard from the GM, we might as well hear from McNamara himself. “KDVR and KWGN are leaders in having definitive local news coverage in Denver,” McNamara says. “‘We’re on it’ is more than an expression, it’s a value lived every day, in every newscast. I’m excited to join the team.”

Are you telling me that this guy really said, “definitive local news coverage” and “it’s a value lived every day.”
