Money Owed to Providence News People
/Yesterday, in a Patron-Only story, FTVLive told you that Nexstar’s WPRI (Providence) did a story about a law in Rhode Island that states employers must pay their staff time and a half if they work on Sundays or religious holidays.
The problem was, the Nexstar station wasn’t, nor hasn’t been paying their staff time and half for working Sundays.
Nexstar quietly started paying the staff and asked them to sign forms acknowledging they were paid.
Former employees of WPRI are wondering where their money is.
Well, guess what?
Apparently, Sinclair’s WJAR and Standard Media’s WLNE have also violated the law and have not been paying their employees who work on Sundays.
I’m sure there are some former employees at those stations who want to see the money as well.
And to think, if WPRI didn’t do the story, it’s a good bet that non one would have ever known.
