Hey Scott,

I just read your post about the producer who moved to Detroit for a job but was fired three months later. I find it truly disgusting but, unfortunately, not surprising.

I had a similar experience while working at that station. CBS had a secret plan in early 2002 to shut down the News department without warning its employees. The plan was to have us show up at work and be turned away by security. Luckily, the word got out, and the union sued under the Federal Warn Act, which required the company to give employees a 90-day notice for retraining and a chance at a possible job in another part of the operation.

When CBS restarted News, I warned some young journalists heading there to have a plan B. I wouldn't be surprised if CBS, once again, cancels News in Detroit. The company has never demonstrated commitment to that city and its viewers.

Sorry, I'm a week late to this but I had a double hernia surgery,

But you're right about the future being streaming, and it's clear that whoever moves all their resources into their streaming networks will be the winner if they choose to be out-front early.

Kate Snow is more valuable for nbc/nbc news to be on News now on every platform vs the network. NBC should swap studio use and let News now have the main msnbc studios and let msnbc be a green screen talking head channel. As I sit here trying to recover I've been watching all the streaming news networks and it's beyond clear that cable and broadcast is going to reach an end with the age of the viewers.

Scott,

I love watching your videos on YouTube!

The transformation of your house was amazing. I hope you continue to make videos and show us more of the life and times of the guy behind FTVLive.

Stay well.
