Why Do This?

KDFW (Dallas) Anchor Steve Eagar made a post and a viewer DM’d him about the post.

From the outside looking in, it appeared that the viewer might have over reacted a bit to Eargar’s post, but the Anchor still put her on blast. The viewer voiced her opinion on a private message, and was respectful with her comment.

After Eagar posted the private DM, without redacting the woman’s name, many of his followers mocked her.

She posted a public comment as a follow up.

I’m still not sure why Eagar felt the need to include the person’s name in what was a private message. This is a viewer, this is your customer.

Eagar replied and doubled down against the woman.

I would have expected better from a longtime anchor, but I guess these days, that’s asking for too much.
