Another media group, another round of layoffs.

Disney/ABC chopped 75 positions, split between ABC News and the O&Os.

Disney has been making cuts across their properties for months, but for the most part, the O&Os have avoided the ax.

In an internal memo to the staff, ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic said, “Across the various ranks of ABC News, a limited number of our colleagues are being impacted by staff reductions. As you know, this has been happening across the broader company and the industry at large in recent weeks and months.”

“For us, it means shaping a team that embraces the new media landscape and evolves along with it, which we must do to continue serving our viewers. Of course, this news is the most difficult for those who are directly affected,” Karamehmedovic wrote.

Gee, you think?

I wish when management decided to whack people, they would keep the corporate mumbo jumbo to themselves.

It never helps the situation.
