Going Back to Local News?

Newsrooms in Buffalo are buzzing over the rumors that former CBS Evening News Anchor Jeff Glor might be looking anchor the news in Buffalo.

Glor grew up in the Buffalo area and attended the same high school as the humble guy that runs FTVLive.

Nexstar’s WIVB hosted Glor in the station’s suite at the Bills game on Sunday.

Glor told the Buffalo News that he had separate management meetings at WIVB and Tegna’s WGRZ.

He did not talk to Scripps-owned WKBW (can you blame him?).

“I think it was a good visit all around,” Glor told the Buffalo News. “I grew up watching both stations.” “I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t something I was considering,” he said.

WIVB’s longtime Anchor Don Postles’ contract is coming up and with him in his 70’s, makes Glor look like a good replacement.

You would not see many network anchors looking to go back to a mid-market station, but Glor is different.

He doesn’t have a giant ego, and he loves his hometown of Buffalo.
