A number of Scripps station Anchors who have been told their job is being eliminated have told FTVLive that management has let them dictate the message.

In other words, those losing their job can make up a story as to why they are leaving. They can say they’re retiring, leaving for family reasons, or looking to try something else.

Some anchors have used a story, and others have been honest with viewers. Some have decided to just leave without saying anything.

Scripps is trying to let the talent being dismissed save face, but it doesn’t say much about the transparency of the company.

With all that being said, longtime KOAA (Colorado Springs) Anchor Rob Quirk retired from the station yesterday.

Did he really retire, or was he pushed? Sadly, because of the way Scripps is handling the exits we don’t know.
