New ND Named in Raleigh

Yesterday, FTVLive told you about the flood of people who have left Sinclair’s KUTV in Salt Lake City.

You can now add another one to the list, and it’s the News Director.

Mike Friedrich is leaving the Sinclair station to work at one of the best stations in the country.

Starting in May, Friedrich will take over the ND job at WRAL in Raleigh. WRAL is one of the last stations that puts more emphasis on journalism and less on making money (although they do well in that area as well).

Back in July, FTVLive told you that longtime WRAL News Director Rick Gall would be retiring this Spring.

As for Friedrich, he has to feel like he’s moving from the outhouse to the penthouse.
