Chicago Anchor Tried to Hack FTVLive

Okay, before we get to get to this story, yes, the headline is sort of clickbait.

While I haven’t posted to my Facebook page in ages, I do check FB from time to time, because some people still message me there.

I was a bit surprised when I got this DM from former WLS (Chicago) Sports Anchor Mark Giangreco.

The two of us are “friends” on FB, but we have never had a conversation. We’re both from Buffalo, so I thought maybe he is reaching out to talk about something Buffalo-related.

As soon as I responded, he replied, and I knew that his FB had been hacked and the hacker was going to try and rip me off.

I decided to make sure it wasn’t him.

At that point, I closed the chat, and deleted Giangreco as a friend.

Hey Mark, if you get your Facebook back from the scammer, feel free to add me back as a friend. Then in two or three weeks, when I finally log back into FB, I’ll add you.

This is that there are some bad people on social media and they may not be who you think they are.
