Demoted Off the Desk in Bakersfield

As Scripps changes the way they do TV news, longtime KERO (Bakersfield) Anchor Mike Hart is losing his job.

Hart has been with the station for more than 32 years.

Hart is losing his anchor gig but will be staying on at KERO in an Executive Reporter role.

Scripps is doing away with anchors in many of their markets as they move to a beat system that will be staffed by MMJ’s.

While it is way too early to tell if this is going to work, several Scripps employees have reached out to FTVLive, voicing both frustration and confusion.
