Signed off in Lynchburg

After 3 1/2 years at Sinclair’s WSET, Meteorologist Sydney Welch left the station on Friday.

Welch joined WSET straight out of college.

"I am eternally grateful for all the laughs we’ve had together and the trust you’ve put in me during the serious times," Welch shared with her Facebook followers. "This is a choice I've made, and it’s been a tough one. The team at ABC 13, and specifically, the Good Morning Virginia crew has been like family to me. One big, highly caffeinated family."

Welch did not tip her hand as to what’s next.
