Back as The Chief Met
/Nexstar’s WFXR (Roanoke) has named Patrick Mckee as the station’s new Chief Meteorologist.
He is replacing John Carroll who departed the station for Bend, Oregon.
Mckee is no stranger to Roanoake news viewers, as he was the longtime News Anchor across the street at WSLS before he left the business a couple of years back.
McKee started his career doing weather, before making the move to news. Now, he’s come full circle and is back doing weather and is the Chief Met to boot.
“We are excited to have Patrick join the WFXR Pinpoint Weather Team as Chief Meteorologist. He is a proven newsroom leader who will help us serve the community and lead our team,“ said WFXR GM Ben Oldham.
“I am excited to join the WFXR News team. I have long admired the quality journalism and forecasts produced by the station and look forward to working alongside my new colleagues to inform everyone in Southwest and Central Virginia,” McKee added.
