Bumped Up the Nexstar Food Chain *

Nexstar promoted executive Tracey Rogers to the position of Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for its broadcasting division. Rogers, an industry veteran with an extensive background in new business development, local news programming, and strategic planning across various media platforms, is slated to commence her new role on September 5th. She will be stationed at the company's headquarters in Irving, TX, and will be reporting to Andrew Alford, President of Nexstar's broadcasting division.

Rogers' most recent role has been as the Vice President and General Manager of WKRN-TV (ABC), a Nexstar television station serving Nashville, Tennessee (DMA# 27). During her tenure, the station underwent notable changes, including the expansion of its midday local newscast to a full hour. Plans for a new hour-long local newscast at 3 p.m. CT, set to launch on September 11th, were also developed under her leadership. Additionally, WKRN introduced a one-hour lifestyle program called "Local on 2" and initiated successful local sponsorship programs such as "News 2 Gives Back" and "Take a Titan 2 School."

According to Andrew Alford, "Tracey has done an outstanding job with WKRN-TV, spearheading a consistent improvement in ratings, revenue and profitability." He praised her ability to lead effective management, sales, and news teams that deliver impactful results, expressing confidence in her contributions to the Nexstar management team.

Rogers brings with her almost 35 years of broadcasting experience, including past roles as General Manager at WMC-TV (NBC) in Memphis, Tennessee (DMA #52) from 2014 to 2017, and at KAIT-TV (ABC) in Jonesboro, Arkansas (DMA #183) from 2011 to 2014. She has also served as a News Director at various television stations.
