That's a Conflict

A recently unsealed depositions show a major conflict of interest for an MSNBC host.

The documents show that Under Armour’s CEO Kevin Plank shared nonpublic financial details with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, and that she gave advice to him on how to address negative publicity.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Plank went so far as to give Ruhle a private phone with a special email address to communicate with him. The WSJ also says that he sent her confidential financial information about the sportswear maker and enlisted her help to refute concerns about slumping sales.

As MSNBC comes off one of its best months in the history of the network, this should help pour cold water on the celebration.

MSNBC knows that this is a major conflict of interest. We’ll have to see how they deal with it.
