MSNBC Tops Ratings for Trump Arrest

On Wednesday night, Fox News GOP topped the ratings with over 12 million viewers across Fox outlets.

The next day, when Donald Trump turned himself in, MSNBC led the ratings.

MSNBC was No. one for prime time on Thursday night, winning every time slot except at 9 PM where Fox News barely pulled out a win in total viewers.

Hannity pulled in 2,672,000 viewers on Fox News. MSNBC’s Alex Wagner was just slightly behind with 2,654,000 total viewers.

But, when it came to the demo, Wagner killed Hannity 410,000 to just over 300,000. In fact, CNN even beat Hannity in the demo.

In total prime time hours, MSNBC won the night with nearly 3 million viewers, Fox News pulled 2.6 million, and CNN was last with only 1.6 million viewers.

Trump’s legal trouble has brought MSNBC strong numbers and has seen them top Fox News on a number of occasions.

The Fox News hosts efforts to downplay Trump’s legal problems have not been a ratings winner but have helped the network in continuing to pander to the MAGA base.
