CBS O&O Ditches 6PM Newscast

Many of us who have worked in TV always considered the 6 PM newscast the newscast of record.

Well, CBS O&O KTVT has decided to ditch the 6 PM newscast and replace it with Jeopardy.

The station is also rebranding from CBS 11 to CBS Texas.

We hear that KTVT will be adding a 7pm newscast on its sister station KTXA on Sept. 12,  after replacing 6:00 news on the main channel for Jeopardy on Sept 11.

The fact that the CBS O&O in Dallas will not have a newscast at 6PM is another nail in the coffin for this business.
