The Dirty Dozen
/You want to talk low expectations…
Gray’s WTVG (Toledo) is celebrating 75 years on the air and they are offering viewers the opportunity to buy at WTVG “13 Strong” T-shirt.
I’m not sure the station is expecting brisk sales of the tee.
If you look at the order page, the T-shirt is selling for $13 bucks, and it is so far just in presale.
WTVG is using an outside company to make and sell the shirts and according to the order page, “Per the agreement between 13abc and Jupmode, all orders are subject to cancellation if a design does not meet an overall minimum sales quota of 12 pieces during the presale. Should a design not make it to production, a refund will be issued within two business days after the pre-sale ends.”
12 pieces? That’s it?
My question is why didn’t the station itself just order 12 shirts so this didn’t have to be added? It would have cost the station just $156 bucks, and then viewers would not be stuck wondering if their T-shirt was going to be made or not.
Also, shouldn’t that number have been 13, you know, just for us OCD people?
