On the D-L in Pittsburgh
/Viewers have been wondering where WPXI Sports Anchor Alby Oxenreiter has been and why he hasn’t been on the air.
After getting calls and emails, the Cox station finally issued an update to viewers.
“Alby is now at home recovering from open heart surgery, which he had one month ago,” the statement said. “He developed a major blood infection that traveled to his heart. The surgeon replaced two heart valves, but other complications from the surgery have delayed his recovery. Alby is making progress, but a full recovery will be a long road ahead.”
Oxenreiter is a Pittsburgh native that has worked at three different stations in the market. He joined WPXI in 2006.
