Scripps Pulling the Plug on Pay For Play Show in Buffalo

Word is that Scripps-own WKBW is pulling the plug on AM Buffalo.

There was a time when AM Buffalo pulled huge ratings.

But, in mid-1995, the live studio audience was eliminated by new owner Granite Broadcasting, and it became a paid programming show disguised as information for the viewer at home.

Granite killed the show and tried to milk it for money.

When Scripps took over, AM Buffalo was reduced to 30 minutes and was wilting on the vine/

In a week or two, it will be history.

Always sad to see local programming axed, but in this case, it’s sort of like putting the show out of its misery.

There was a time and place when AM Buffalo was must-see TV.
