Gray Staff Packs IRE

The Investigative Reporters and Editors convention wrapped up here in Orlando and Gray TV was well represented.

The company sent more than 200 people to IRE.

On the flip side, it’s NBC/Telemundo.

The company usually sends a group of consumer and other investigative reporters who work at their owned and operated stations, but it didn't do so this year.

A source tells FTVLive that the company is cutting back on sending journalists to this conference. We also hear the company is cutting back on paying for dozens of Emmy entries because times are tough.

While we can certainly see cutting back on Emmy entries, I think not sending people to a great conference like IRE is a mistake.
