Resurfacing in Tulsa

Back in April of 2020, FTVLive told you that Nexstar’s WJZY Fox 46 in Charlotte had parted ways with GM Mike Lewis after less than a year on the job.

Now, Lewis is coming off the beach and has landed at struggling Sinclair station KTUL in Tulsa.

KTUL was once a proud and gifted station that has been heading downhill fast for the past couple of years.

Sinclair’s COO Rob Weisbord had this to say about Lewis's move to KTUL, “Michael is an accomplished general manager, successfully driving revenue growth and effectively managing high-performing teams for over 15 years. We’re thrilled he is joining Sinclair to lead KTUL and look forward to continued success at the station.”

“Driving revenue growth…” is the key phrase there. They don’t care that the newsroom is in free fall. It’s all about the money and only the money.
