Insiders at KATC, the Scripps station in Lafayette, are on edge a bit as some changes appear coming their way.

A source tells FTVLive that the News Director held meetings with most newsroom staff last week, informing them to brace for this week. While she didn’t get into specifics, it sounds like some newscasts could be canceled, and layoffs are a real possibility.

“With all that uncertainty, morale is at an all-time low,” said one staffer to FTVLive.

But, as all this was hitting the employees last week, on Friday, KATC General Manager Sean Trcalek sent out this email, obtained by FTVLive.

First, he starts the email with “Happy Friday,” which it clearly was not.

Second, he says he might have a new boss to report to, but everything is fine with him.
