Not a Good Look

WVUA (Tuscaloosa) Reporter Giselle Hood was heard on-air saying "slay" after she finished her segment while the anchors were reporting on the murders of three people, including a child.

Hood said she was talking about her live hit and not those that were murdered.

Hood posted the clip to her TikTok and followed up with more posts about what happened.

@gisellehood literally THE worst timing 😭 also I want to make it abundantly clear I was talking about my live shot and not the shooting #newsreporterbloopers #newsbloopers #livetvbloopers #fypシ ♬ original sound - gisellehood

"I know people love news bloopers, but I didn’t expect the clip to receive such an instant and overwhelming reaction from people," Hood told the Daily Dot.

It’s great that people were murdered, and it help her clout, she didn’t add, but maybe she should have.

Hood also pointed out that it was not her fault at all, and you can blame the itern running audio. "You see me in the video finishing my live hit and then going off camera," Hood says. "That's the point when they're supposed to cut my mic."

She said that the situation, which occurred a few months ago, was a "great learning lesson" for the person in charge of sound and confirmed that she didn't get in trouble for it herself.

But, she was able to milk the incident over and over again on her social media.

I’m sure the family of the people that were killed are happy to know just how popular her clip has been.
