The Nation Continues to Flounder

Nexstar’s News Nation has moved to a 24/7 operation during the week.

Apparently, news doesn’t happen on the weekends.

News Nation has really struggled to find an audience and the hope was that going to 24/7 would help them do that.

Checking the ratings, it’s not good; News Nation is averaging just 54,000 total viewers and only 10,000 in the demo.

Right now, May is tracking to be their lowest-rated month since Jan 2022.

Despite adding accused sexual harassers Chris Cuomo and Bill O’Reilly together on Wednesday nights, the ratings haven’t popped.

News Nation is said to be interested in fired Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and while his hiring would certainly fit the News Nation template of misfits, Carlson is still locked in a contract at Fox.

Thankfully, Nexstar’s revenues are still climbing and that means they can continue to throw money at the failing cable news channel.
