McDonald's Fires Back at Byron Allen
/Bryon Allen claims McDonald’s has not spent as much of their ad dollars on Allen’s stations because he is Black.
“McDonald’s takes billions from African American consumers and gives almost nothing back,” Allen has claimed.
The fast food giant has released a statement calling Allen out.
“Byron Allen is engaged in a baseless public campaign against McDonald’s. This behavior is not new for Mr. Allen. It’s the same litigation playbook he’s used with other companies. He cherry picks allegations to create his own narrative that is inconsistent with the facts. What is different here is that McDonald’s refuses to be coerced by a tale that ignores its longstanding history of helping create generational wealth for underrepresented communities. In recent years, we have launched our $250 million global franchisee recruitment initiative, increased spending with diverse-owned suppliers and diverse-owned media, and established representation goals within our leadership. We are committed to fostering an environment where equitable opportunity is part of the lived experience for McDonald’s franchisees, suppliers, and employees. We look forward to a favorable resolution of these meritless claims in court.”
