WHIO Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs announced that she was leaving the station after more than a dozen years.

“Working for WHIO has been a dream come true, but I am ready for the next chapter of my life,” said Vrydaghs.

She’s leaving for a job outside of TV news, but one that will help communities and the planet.

Vrydaghs will continue to lead and educate in her new role with the nonprofit, Keep America Beautiful.

“Weather, climate, and environmental restoration have always been a passion of mine. I cannot wait to work with communities across the country to help ensure they can live in a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment,” explained Vrydaghs.

Her exit leaves the Cox station with a single Met on staff.

Britley Ritz who has been working freelance for CNN is coming back to Dayton to try and help fill the holes at WHIO.
