CBS's NY Station Cuts Back Freelancers

Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you that KCBS/KCAL (LA) had cut back on their use of freelancers.

A source now tells FTVLive that WCBS (New York) is cutting back as well. “The freelance ENG guys have immediately been cut from five days a week to three days a week,” a source tells FTVLive.

Word is that the orders to cut are coming from CBS corporate.

This is the time of year that many of the full-timers take vacation and cutting back on freelancers now doesn’t seem to be a wise move.
