When reports started coming in about another mass shooting, News Nation Reporter Alex Caprariello was posting tweets that included information that was not confirmed and info from scanner traffic.

First-year J-school students know that you don’t report on scanner traffic. You get on the phone, call the dispatch or the P-I-O and confirm before you report.

If you can’t confirm it, don’t report it.

I also saw a news outlet report that there was “possibly a second shooter.”

I feel like I hear this every time there is a mass shooting and there is never a “second shooter.”
